Cybury Gooners - Two Nil to the Cybury

Two-Nil to the Cybury

Return to Cybury Home Page

In the historic first confrontation between Cybury Gooners and Internet Hotspurs, played at St Albans Football Club on Sunday 19th November 1995, the Gooners emerged victorious. The result was 2-0, with Darren Skeels scoring both goals towards the end of the first half. The expected second half onslaught from the opposition never materialized with the Gooners completely dominant without managing to increase the scoreline. In actual fact the Gooners physio (alright then, man with bucket) was busier than the Gooners goalie in the second half. Reports on the game are available. If you think that all of this rather biased, you can always take a look at what the opposition thought.

The game has even got a mention in Guardian Online where they managed to spell Cybury correctly, unlike in the paper edition!

It is also reported in Jetpack Ezine who had a reporter at the game.
